Spring plans for the Goshen Community Chorale

This coming spring of 2020 the Chorale will be working on a program based on the theme of “Holy Jazz and Sacred Broadway.”  The music will be both fun and challenging and will include the following:

  • “Sing of the Lord’s Goodness”, by Ernest Sands
  • Psalmkonzert, by Heinz Zimmermann
  • A Little Jazz Mass, by Bob Chilcott
  • “Pie Jesu” (from Requiem), by Andrew Lloyd Webber
  • Glorious, by Abraham Kaplan

Links to performance videos where one can listen to these pieces and be found under the “Study Resources” tab on this website.

Our performance is scheduled for Saturday evening, May 16th, at College Mennonite Church.

Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday evening, February 25th and will also take place at College Mennonite Church.

Persons interested in singing with the Chorale for this event should contact William Mateer (our director) at 574-533-2562 or mateers@aol.com.  Auditions are not required for persons with prior choral experience.  The Chorale’s “Choral Scholars Program” provides special opportunities and support for high school musicians with maturity and ability.
